Combination Metal Detector and Checkweigher: One Line, Two Checks
Two things get a packaged-food product pulled from the shelf: a metal contamination, and a wrong pack weight. Most plants run two separate machines for them — two belts, two control panels, two spots on the floor, two sets of operators to train.
The Fanchi-tech combination unit in our Shanghai photo solves both at once: the pack passes through the metal detector head first, then over the weighing section on the same conveyor line, and a rejector diverts the pack if it fails either test. One footprint, one operator interface, one supplier.
What the Combo Does In One Pass
- Pack enters on the FDA food-grade PU belt.
- Metal check — passes through the FA-MD-II detector head; ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless metal is detected.
- Weight check — rides onto the FA-CW weighing section; the load cell reads underweight/overweight.
- Any failure triggers the matched rejector into the chute; clean packs continue to packing.
- Metal and weight data log together for one audit record.
